2005
I've just been watching a programme on Channel 4 by the "Time Team" who were doing an "archaelogical dig" at Goldcliff. They were there sifting through the mud and reportedly found Megalithic era footprints, flint tools, and tooth from some ancestor of cattle. I'll bet the steaks on that were more than "12oz" - the teeth were bigger than any 'steak on legs' I've ever seen.
They cooked a 'megalithic meal' in mud, and they appeared to be enjoying it. How times have changed since the Llanwern Steelworks was built.
2009
The time team has been at it again. This time they were at Caerwent. These programmes are quite fascinating as they reveal things that are in the surrounding areas.
